Server-Side Conversions API (CAPI)
Pro Plan Only
CAPI sends conversion data directly from your server to Meta, bypassing iOS 14+ restrictions and ad blockers.
Why Use CAPI?
Benefits of Server-Side Tracking
- 📈 20-40% More Data: Recover lost conversions from iOS 14+ and ad blockers
- 🍎 Bypass iOS Restrictions: Track iPhone users who opt-out of tracking
- 🛡️ Beat Ad Blockers: Server-side data can't be blocked
- 🎯 Better Attribution: More accurate ROAS calculations
- ⚡ Event Deduplication: Automatically prevent double-counting
How CAPI Works
- Browser Pixel Fires: Standard events (PageView, ViewContent, AddToCart) tracked via JavaScript
- Customer Completes Checkout: Order is placed on your store
- Webhook Triggers: BigCommerce sends order data to Algoboost
- Server Sends Purchase Event: Algoboost sends Purchase event directly to Meta's API
- Deduplication: Meta uses event_id to merge browser and server events, preventing double-counting
Setting Up CAPI
- Upgrade to Pro plan ($29.99/month)
- Get a Conversions API Access Token from Facebook Events Manager
- Enter the token in your Algoboost dashboard
- Server-side tracking starts automatically!
💡 Recommendation: Use both browser pixel AND CAPI together for maximum coverage. This gives you:
- Browser-based tracking for users without restrictions
- Server-side tracking to recover iOS 14+ and ad-blocked conversions
- Automatic deduplication to prevent double-counting

Optimization Tips
🎯 Best Practices for Maximum ROI
1. Enable CAPI (Pro Plan)
Server-side tracking recovers 20-40% of lost data from iOS users and ad blockers. This dramatically improves attribution and ROAS.
2. Use Custom Events for Retargeting
Build highly engaged audiences with scroll depth and time on site tracking. These users have higher conversion rates.
3. Create Lookalike Audiences
Use Purchase events to create lookalike audiences in Meta Ads Manager for prospecting campaigns.
4. Set Up Dynamic Product Ads
Use your product catalog feed to automatically show relevant products to users who viewed them.
5. Monitor Event Quality
Check your Events Manager "Event Match Quality" score. Algoboost includes enhanced match parameters to improve this score.
6. Test Your Pixel Regularly
Use Facebook Pixel Helper and "Test Events" in Events Manager to verify tracking is working correctly.
7. Implement GDPR/CCPA Consent
Add a cookie consent banner to comply with privacy regulations. This builds customer trust.
8. Review Event History
